Classic Accessories RV Propane Tank Cover

Concerned about the dual propane tanks on your RV or camper getting dirty and rusty with the incoming thunderstorm heading your way? This cover will protect your propane tanks from rain, snow, mild sun, dirt, and grime, so you won't have to spend too much time wiping them clean. When you keep your tanks covered, they won't prematurely age, so you won't have to replace them as often.

The durable vinyl material is water resistant, so it'll hold up against rain showers and snow flurries during storage. The reinforced stitching at stress points prevent rips from flying debris like twigs and branches. And the material is easy to wipe clean before putting it away at the start of the camping season.

Securing the Cover onto Your Propane Tanks

The included reinforced board insert should first be assembled. This will help keep the rigid shape of the top part of the cover. Then, making sure the zipper is oriented outwards, slip the cover down along your tanks until you can wrap the reinforced elastic hem around the bottom of them. This hem keeps the cover snug and secure on your propane tanks so it doesn't shift around or come off in the wind.

AJ: What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out this propane tank cover from Classic Accessories. Now, it goes over two dual, 20 pound propane tanks, and it's going to protect it from the elements and just keep them covered up that way you don't see them. They're out of sight, out of mind. Some people don't like seeing the tanks on the front of their rig. They like that cleaner look and this is going to help you achieve that.

Let's check it out.If you're looking at the cover thinking that this color is not really your style, it does also come in gray, but it's going to be made out of the same material. That's a good vinyl, fabric combination material. One of the nice things included is that it's not just a cover or like a tarp that goes over the tanks. It's got a zipper on the front so you can unzip that and gain access to the tanks when you need to. It's not like you have to fully remove the cover every time you need to get to something.

You can just undo the zipper and get to everything you need up in here. Let me take a look down here. Outside, it's actually a pretty windy day. You see it's keeping it nice and snug on the bottom of these propane tanks. You don't have to worry about it blowing around or coming loose on you.

It looks like it's going to stay on there really tight. You don't have to worry about the wind bothering it.It also comes with this insert that's supposed to be at the top of our cover. You can see how it's kind lumpy at the top. This would make it more flat that way it's an even, flat surface. When the rain comes down on it, it doesn't pool up, it'll just roll off.

However, I found while we we're installing it, it doesn't fit with this inside while you put the cover on. One thing they did do well, if it would have worked, is there are straps on the inside that this would slide in so it would hold it in place. The other covers don't have those straps, but it doesn't fit with that on there. It's so tight. I even moved the tanks together. We ripped it on the sides trying to get on here. There is some issues with installing it. I'm not fully confident in this cover, but check out how we installed it.Now, it's a really easy install. First, you're going to put this two pieces of particle board together with these plastic things that help slide it together and keep it together. You're going to put that at the top of your cover that way it holds its shape of the top when you go to put it on. Now, make sure you put it on with the zipper facing out. Get it to catch on that side and slowly pull it over and down on this side.I might actually unzip it so I can adjust it as we go, a little easier. You might've seen me struggling with a it little bit as I was getting the cover over there. It doesn't seem to fit with the board insert at the top. That takes up too much of the material. I even pushed the tanks together to give it a little bit more space. It zips a little bit easier but, man, it was not easy to do.Overall, I wasn't really impressed with this propane cover. We had another one I did earlier that actually fit over there. Fit snug, stayed in place. This one, I don't think it's going to hold up. I'm going to be completely honest with you. It ripped on the sides when I installed it. That's just trying to get the fitter on the tank, so that rip's only going to get bigger and it's not going to be there one day when you're traveling the road. I would suggest maybe investing in one of the hardcover ones. Those are going to last. Those usually made out of polypropylene, so they can take the rocks that are coming at your tanks. It's going to protect it from those and it's just going to hold up more over time. Well, that does it for our look at this. I hope this helped.

Great product and price. quick shipping.

I would have rated this excellent if there was a separate opening to feed the propane hose through, or if the zipper was the type that zips from both ends. Maybe this is designed to feed the propane hose through the opening at the bottom, but my hose isn't long enough to do that. I also noticed that the instructions specify that this cover is not intended for use while towing the trailer. I've never heard of anyone not using such a cover while towing, and not sure why I would want a cover otherwise.

by:

We are a little new to trailer camping and purchased a small camper this summer. The cover fit really well, was a little awkward to put the top panel suppoprts in but it looks great. The price was right. I was a little surprized to see that the warranty on it would be void if I travel with it on.This was my third purchase with etrailer and its great to have one stop shoping with someone that seems to carry everything I need and at great prices.

Great products! Excellent service! I've ordered from them numerous times and have always had quality service and products. Their customer service is excellent; response to questions is immediate. This is my "go to" place for all my RV and truck and towing needs. Make it yours!

by:

Fits well and looks good on the front of the trailer.

by:

Everything with E-trailer is always fist class

by:

Product delivered on time and exactly like in the review

by:

Simple, inexpensive, does the job.

by:

Arrived in record time, thanks, can't wait to install it after I clean and paint the area.

by:

Good product for the price paid.

by:

cover works well, looks good, used on a living quarters horse trailer.
The top has some sort of hard surface under the material and it has broken into pieces for some reason.

by:

I was looking for a cover that I could open with my bunk out. You can see that my tanks have a hybrid bunk end that goes over them. My old hard plastic cover needed to be removed from the top to access the valve; while this one just has a zipper that gives me access. After having this for about a year it still functions 100%. However, the material does stain easily with mildew and the cardboard top that holds the shape does not hold up long. I would suggest replacing that (as I have) with just a piece of plywood across the top of the tanks.

by:

The cover only lasted 3mon. The travel wind and sun tore it apart I don’t have it anymore.
Bad choice to order the problem I had to pay for it
Can’t show a picture I put it in the garbage

by:

Just got ours today, but it fits great and looks even better!

by:

Quality material, easy to install.

by:

Difficult to put the plastic stips on the thick cardboard top together

by:

Good cover, needed it for easy removal under A frame tray mounted above the LP tanks. Looks good.

by:

Fits Like A Glove! Perfect!

by:

Not what I expected. Looked good in the advertising, but when I opened the box, the first thing was a notice that this cover can only be used when the trailer is stationary, i.e. in storage. I've had the plastic clam-shell covers in the past, and they are road-worthy. Need to send this one back and get one of the hard-shell covers.

by:

It works but it didn't take long before the zipper ripped. If I was buying again, I would buy hard plastic covers.

by:

The product will last 1 season if lucky! The “poster board “ attachments break on install trying to cover seams on canvas and fall out during installation! Service was great from order and estimated delivery but product NOT GOOD!! Tire cover is ok and fans are great!

by:

Wanted a solid cover, but due to space restrictions of a tongue mounted generator rack, could not use a solid unit. This worked out well as an alternative. Hasn't been on there long enough to see if it will hold up, as I took it off for the winter.

by:

Overall a great product for the money. The installation and assembly process was easy. The product materials and finish are at or above expectations for the price. The inside lid stiffeners are made of a pressboard material. Not only are they not very durable they do not fill the entire space of the lid. Ultimately I would pay a little more for a version of this with a single piece lid stiffener / more durable lid.

by:

Cover gives the front of the trailer a clean look. It fits like a glove but I do have to cut my all thread center rod down. It was replaced and never sized.

by:

Sorry, this just didn't work. way to tight, difficult to install and remove. I don't recommend. Zipper was tight and zipper access was not good. Fortunately it didn't cost much because i damaged it trying to make it work. I shop often at etrailer, first time I had anissue with a product.
